Odeya Rush is a Jewish actress who was born in Israel on May 12, 1997. Odeya means "Thank God" in Hebrew. Odeya Rush's road to becoming an A-list star seems to be picking up speed at a rapid pace, especially considering she moved to the U.S. at the age of nine.
The only daughter of her parents, Maia and Shlomo, Odeya was born in the town of Haifa, Northern Isreal’s largest city. Although she may be her parents' only daughter, we can assume that the young Angelina Jolie look-a-like with luscious lips and piercing blue eyes is heavily protected by the love and care of her six brothers.Rush’s pursuit of an acting career began after she moved from Alabama to New York City, where she booked a variety of commercials and short films. Her talents expedited a quick transition from commercials to television and film, where she landed roles on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (2011) and “Law and Order SVU” (2010.)
She is currently best known for picking up a costarring role in 2012’s The Odd Life of Timothy Green, but we can bet that after her starring role alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood in this year’s The Giver, Rush’s presence will be recognized by a vastly greater audience.
Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, and Katie Holmes are just a few of the names Rush will be sharing the big screen and a roster with, proof that the young woman with a stand-out name holds a promising start to what could become a wildly successful acting career.
