Odeya Rush The Giver: 5 Facts

The Giver's Fiona character will be played by a gorgeous Jewish actress, Odeya Rush. Odeya has secured the role of a lifetime by playing Brenton Thwaites' love interest. She'll become an international A-lister after The Giver is released on August 15th. We've posted pictures of Odeya Rush because she's gorge, but how much do you know about this talented rising star.

1) She claims she's "always so emotional even when [she watches] a movie that's really good." Rush says "I get emotional about how good the movie was."

2) While filming The Giver, Odeya went shark cage diving. Meryl Streep didn't join in, Brenton didn't either "because he's Australian and they have a weird thing about sharks." Alexander Skarsgard participated and her Odeya's dad joined in and had the time of his life.

3) She's friends with Taylor Swift. If only men liked women as much as women like her, or if only Taylor Swift switched teams. Swift is friends with every famous female that she meets basically, so naturally Odeya attended her house party in Rhode Island, along with several other A-listers. Are these women afraid Swifty will write songs about them if they don't become BFF's with her?

4) For her initial audition, Odeya spent 1 hour auditioning to play Fiona. Most auditions last between 5 to 10 minutes or less.

5) She has four twin brothers. Rush has six brothers total and two sets of them are twins.

With a name like Odeya, the gorgeous 17 year-old actress doesn't even need to use her last name. Odeya Rush is Jewish and she plays Fiona in the highly anticipated film adaptation of The Giver. Odeya was born in Israel but I'm unaware of whether or not she speaks Hebrew.

The stunning actress only had one other major movie, in the Odd Life of Timothy Green, and now she will undoubtedly become a household name. Think Twilight, The Hunger Games, The Fault in Our Stars... she is going to be HUGE!

Rush seems fairly private. She didn't update her Instagram page very often in the past and she isn't an Instagram addict like Miley Cyrus, but her posts are interesting and give fans a glimpse at her private life. At 17 years old, you have to be very careful of what you post. Anything racy or taking a controversial stance on a hot button issue could make headlines in a very negative way.

Odeya reminds me of a young Angelina Jolie. Her lips are incredible, her eyes are breathtaking and her thick, long hair is what girls buy Pantene products for. She doesn't even need an ounce of makeup and arguably looks much hotter without a drop of it. She's posted photos from her Nylon magazine photo shoot on her IG. She was also photographed for Flaunt magazine. We won't be surprised to find out that she'll be in many magazines over the next few weeks. The Giver hits theaters on August 15th and Odeya will be acting in the movie with fellow newcomer, Brenton Thwaites.

Taylor Swift also scored a coveted role in the movie. We have no idea why Taylor is in the film. Taylor posted pictures of Odeya at her Rhode Island beach house last weekend, partying on July 4th. Many other female stars were there. I would worry about Swifty being a bad influence on Odeya, but Taylor hasn't had a public romantic relationship in more than a year. I think she's tired of being the target of so many jokes.

Meanwhile Odeya is currently filming Goosebumps and has another movie in post-production right now. Keep your eye on this one! I have a feeling she's gorgeous AND extremely talented.
